Summer Art Camp, weekly partial and full day classes for preschool through teens in drawing, painting, sculpture, mosaic, animation, fiber arts, jewelry-making, creative dramatics, musical theater, and much more, has begun at The Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wisconsin. The camp runs through Aug. 19 and many classes throughout the summer remain open for enrollment.
During the first week of camp, 12 students ages 7 to 12 participated in the initial Just Add Water offering of the summer. This art and science class takes students down to the St. Croix River to learn about this beautiful natural resource, and then back to the center to create works of art celebrating the water. Each week features different areas of scientific exploration with naturalists and new artistic collaborations with area artists.
Upcoming Just Add Water classes will be held the weeks of July 18 and August 8. The fee for each class is $119. For more information and a complete schedule of Summer Art Camp classes, go to www.ThePhipps.org, call (715) 386-2305, or stop by the center.
