As mayor of the city of Hudson, I extend a sincere welcome and encourage you to fully enjoy the amenities of our great community! Our charming, historic downtown is coupled with a great business climate and a beautiful riverside location. Whether you are a visitor or a current area resident, this booklet is designed to help you discover what’s happening in Hudson.
No visit to Hudson would be complete without experiencing the beautiful St. Croix River. Along with boating and fishing opportunities, Lakefront Park offers a beautiful swimming beach, bathhouse, food vendor and strolling food cart, walking trails, and an expanded schedule of free summer concerts in the bandshell. For more panoramic views of the river, stop by Prospect Park or Birkmose Park, or visit the Library at 700 First St.
All are invited to attend the annual celebrations of the Hudson Booster Days in July, the Pepper Fest in North Hudson in August, the Spirit of the St. Croix Days Art Festival in Lakefront Park in September, and the Hot Air Affair (hot air balloon festival) in February. The Phipps Center for the Arts also offers an excellent series of concerts and plays, plus music, art and dance classes. Throughout the year, many other family-friendly events are held to help fund and support our local emergency services and other worthwhile clubs and organizations.
Our historic downtown district continues to attract visitors to the charming shops and more than 14 unique local restaurants, plus seasonal events such as free classic car shows and Yellowstone Trail Days. And our expanding business districts near I-94 offer many more new opportunities for dining and shopping.
We take pride in making Hudson a great place to live, work or visit. If you’re a tourist, perhaps a visit to an open house or one of our housing developments might convince you to become a resident.
Again, welcome to Hudson!
