Returning from a Threshing Bee held in Roberts were from left; Irwin Bird of Hudson on his 1953 John Deere 70; Marv Pederson of Hastings driving Bird’s 1941 John Deere B; Hillary Parson of Hudson driving her own 1942 John Deere B and her father Steve Parson of Hudson driving his 1954 John Deere 70.
The St. Croix Valley Collectors Association holds the Threshing Bee each August. A barn dance, old tractors and steam engines are part of the two day event. The bee had been held for many years at the Betty and Bob Bjerstedt Farm on Glover Road in Troy. A new location in Roberts was used this year.
