Lions garage sale set Sept. 9-10

Hudsonites participating in the Lions Community Garage Sale Sept. 9-10 will have an opportunity to showcase their sale items online said Gerry Ries, committee chair.

Hudsonites participating in the Lions Community Garage Sale Sept. 9-10 will have an opportunity to showcase their sale items online said Gerry Ries, committee chair.

“With the recent restrictions regarding street signs we tried to come up with a way that our participants could promote their sales,” Ries said. “So we’ve set up an online photo slideshow of sale items that are available. Just go to www.HudsonSunriseLions.com to see how it works.”

Any participant who has registered with the Star-Observer will be able to forward up to three photos of items to have them included in this slideshow. Ries said there are only a few items being shown right now, but nearly all of the participants contacted to date are planning to submit their items.

“Right now we show a Boston Whaler,” he said. “So we think there will be some interesting items. And the public will have a chance to view what’s available for sale before they even get in their car to go driving around!”

To view the items, “just click on the 2011 Garage Sale page,” Ries said. “The slideshow will start right up.”

This is the 10th year that the Hudson Lions and the Hudson Star-Observer have conducted this Community Garage Sale, and as usual a flyer showing all sale locations will be inserted in the Star-Observer during the week of the sale and made available at a number of locations. Lions will be dropping off yard signs like the one pictured with this article, to be placed in the yards of participants.

Funds raised by this sale go to benefit the community of Hudson. Lions have a special interest in supporting children, vision issues, and the disabled. For more information, contact thesunriselions@gmail.com.
