Golfers 3rd in final Big Rivers Conference meet

Raider senior Cassie Wurm solidified her position as the frontrunner for the Big Rivers Conference Player of the Year Award by earning medalist honors at the final BRC mini-meet of the season last Thursday at Turtleback Golf Course in Rice Lake.
Wurm carded a 9-hole score of 38 to take first place, three strokes better than runner-up Hannah Van Amber of Eau Claire Memorial.
River Falls took first in the team competition with a total score of 175, followed by Rice Lake in second with 180, Hudson third with 187, Eau Claire North fourth with 191 and Eau Claire Memorial fifth with 203.
Jill Wanner gave the Raiders two of the top ten finishers in the individual standings with a tenth place score of 47 while Leisha Cory and Hayley Uzpen tied for 17th with scores of 51 each. Lindsey Frank finished with a 52 for the Raiders.
The Raiders will host the BRC Tournament this Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Hudson Golf Club. They will return to Rice Lake for the WIAA Regional Tournament Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Turtleback.
