Uncle Mike’s M-Pour-E-Yum on Hwy. 12 in the town of Hudson will play host to the Hudson Double Cross Shootout on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1-2.

Two days of cyclocross racing are on tap, with the first race starting at 9:30 a.m. each day and the second one of the day, at 2:15 p.m.

Saturday’s event is part of the Minnesota Cycling Federation’s Cyclocross Rider of the Year Series.

In cyclocross, cyclists race around a 1.5- to 2-mile course over natural terrain and obstacles that require them to dismount and carry their bikes for short distances. The races go for a set amount of time, from 30 minutes for younger and beginning riders to 60 minutes for those in the top categories.

The Hudson Double Cross course is on the grounds of the former J.R. Ranch at 736 Hwy. 12.

For a schedule and more information on the weekend races, go to the calendar on the Minnesota Cycling Federation’s website, www.mcf.net. You can also contact local cyclist Dag Selander at selanderdag@sbcglobal.net.

Raffle tickets for a Trek 1.1 road bike in the winner’s size will be sold during the event.
