Daniel Lee Anderson, age 42, of Baldwin, formerly of Roberts, died as a result of an automobile accident on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, near Hudson.

Daniel Lee Anderson, age 42, of Baldwin, formerly of Roberts, died as a result of an automobile accident on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, near Hudson.

Dan was born on Oct. 27, 1968, in Red Wing, Minn., the son of George A. Anderson and Velma J. (Beenken) Sobottka. He was raised in Roberts where he attended St. Croix Central School. He enlisted in the military and completed basic training with the U.S. Naval Reserves. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin - Superior and UW - River Falls. Dan was formerly married to Sherry Ann Lloyd and was blessed with two amazing sons.

Many remember Dan as an excellent salesman who worked many years for Dave Holt Ford (Hudson Ford-Mercury) as well as Anderson Ford in Baldwin. He was a gifted salesman who was recognized by corporate Ford for his number of sales as top manager in the region.

He was a devout Green Bay Packer backer and Milwaukee Brewers fan. He also enjoyed movies, golfing, and throwing darts with friends. He had a great memory and enjoyed playing trivia games. His greatest rewards were his family. Spending time with his sons at the cabin at Jellystone in Warrens gave him the utmost pleasure. He was a gentle giant with a kind and gentle heart and was always there to help family and friends.

Dan will remain in the hearts of his sons, Connor and Evan; mother, Velmie (David) Sobottka; father, George Anderson; brother, Brian "Skunk" Anderson; sisters, Shelly (Joe) Newton, Julie Conley, Monica (Phillip) Gehrman; nieces, Tracee Anderson, Sara Genson, Nicole Larson, and Amber Larson; nephews, Dustin Anderson, Nathan Newton, and Lucas Newton.

He was preceded in death by his aunts, Delphine Watermiller, Marvella Overback; and uncles, Don Beenken and Russell Beenken.

Funeral Celebration of Life for Daniel Lee Anderson was 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ, with Pastors Delbert Permann and Mike Scholz officiating. Burial was in the Warren Cemetery in Roberts with casketbearers being Nate Genson, Kyle Hemenway, Charles Grant Jr., Dale Stock, Tommer Dull, Ryan Grajkowski, Dustin Anderson, and Jon Trinko. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin and 1 hour prior to the service at church on Saturday morning. To honor Dan's favorite teams, many came dressed in Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer apparel. Memorials are preferred.
