School board considering dog track property

The Hudson Board of Education was withholding information until Monday night's special school board meeting, but released the location when information was leaked to Eau Claire Leader-Telegram.

The Hudson School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Monday, Oct. 3 at River Crest Elementary School at 6:30 p.m. to consider taking action to purchase the St. Croix Meadow Dog Track for a future school site. This would be the first step to address the district’s long-term 6-12 space for learning needs.

The board was withholding information about the location of the property until Monday night's special school board meeting, but released the location when information was leaked to Eau Claire Leader-Telegram.

If the board decides to persue the property, the purchase would be subject to a favorable vote in a districtwide referendum.

School District Communications Specialist Tracy Habisch-Ahlin sent a email to the media including the following information:

The district was contacted by the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram indicating that they would be running an article Saturday or Sunday morning regarding the Board's action to purchase property on Monday, Oct. 3 at their Special Meeting. The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram has been able to identify the property through unknown sources. The site the Board will be taking action on is the St. Croix Meadows Dog Track...Details about the land purchase will be reported on at the Special Meeting.
