Hudson’s Cassie Wurm finished third at Wednesday’s WIAA Division 1 La Crosse Sectional at Forest Hills Golf Course to earn her fourth straight trip to the WIAA State Tournament as an individual qualifier.

The Raiders finished fifth overall at the 8-team event.

Wurm carded a round of 83, one stroke behind River Falls’ Halle Hauer and La Crosse Central/Logan’s Grace Onsrud. Hauer defeated Onsrud in a 1-hole playoff to earn medalist honors.

River Falls won the team title with a total score of 346. Tomah took second with 369. Both advance as teams to the state tournament. Wurm’s third place score of 83 earned her a spot at state as an individual qualifier.

This will be Wurm’s fourth straight trip to the state tournament. Last year she had her best finish, tying for eighth place with a two-day total of 156.

The WIAA State Girls Golf Tournament will take place Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 10-11, at University Ridge in Madison.

Other Raider scores from Wednesday’s sectional included Hayley Uzpen with 96, Jill Wanner with 98, Leisha Cory with 99 and Lindsey Frank with 107. The Raiders finished with a team score of 376.
