Two metro men appeared in St. Croix County Criminal Court Monday on charges of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property for allegedly stealing aluminum wiring from the St. Croix Meadows Dogtrack Thursday night.
Ryan Jacobson , 22, of St. Michael, Minn., and Robert Anderson, 22 of Ham Lake, Minn., didn’t know they were being observed from above.
According to Hudson Police Department Chief Marty Jensen, the pair were observed by a “deer harvester” contracted by the city of Hudson who was in a nearby tree hunting. The man, a jailer with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, saw the men walk right under the tree where he was sitting. He contacted authorities and assisted the HPD in the arrest.
The men were also charged with resisting arrest and trespass. More details will appear in the Oct. 13 Star-Observer.
Just last week, the Hudson Board of Education announced plans to purchase the dogtrack as a future school site upon the approval of voters in a referendum.
