Hudson’s Kromer 4th at state cross country meet

Hudson junior Ryan Kromer finished fourth and the Raider girls posted their best team finish ever at the WIAA State Cross Country Championships Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids.
Kromer crossed the finish line in 15 minutes, 47.55 seconds, 12 seconds behind Division 1 champion Chandler Diffee of Madison La Follette.
Raider senior Katie Wetzstein posted a top-ten time in the girls’ race, finishing ninth in 14:40.52. Alexandria Fons of Franklin was the individual Division 1 champ with a time of 13:56.48.
The Raider girls finished sixth overall, their best showing ever at state, with 216 points. Arrowhead won the Division 1 girls’ team title with 56 while River Falls was fourth with 202.
Erin Wetzstein was the second Raider across the finish line, in 27th place, with a time of 15:25.79. Sadie Kroll finished 44th in 15:41.83 and Mary Knutson was 48th in 15:45.56 while Ellen Snyder placed 89th in 16:25.98 to round out the Raiders’ top five.
Other Hudson finishers included Rachel Anderson in 16:48.27 and Krista Mathes in 17:17.23.
