Brett Simpson, 23

Brett Michael Simpson, age 23, of New Richmond, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 12, in Hudson.

Brett was born on Feb. 24, 1988, in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Kelly and Lori (Lubinsky) Simpson. He was raised in Ohio, attending Woodside Elementary before the family made Hudson their home. He attended E.P. Rock and St. Patrick’s Parochial School before attending Hudson High School in the class of ’06. He worked at AG Parts in Hudson.

Brett loved playing video games with his brothers/sisters or fantasy football with his friends. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed catching up about his favorite Kansas City Chiefs and Ohio State Buckeyes with his dad. He also enjoyed listening to music and watching movies.

Brett will remain in the hearts of his parents, Kelly Simpson of New Richmond, Lori (Shannon) Sivek of Hudson; siblings, Alyssa (Matt) Kurki of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Cameron Simpson of Hudson, Hunter Sivek of Hudson, Tylor Sivek of Hudson, Ashley Marzano of San Francisco; paternal grandmother, Mary Simpson of Youngstown, Ohio; maternal grandparents, Russell (Dorothy) Lubinsky of Youngstown; extended family Chad Simpson of Youngstown, Debbie (Fred) Reali of East Rochester, Ohio, David (Jenny) Lubinksy of Uniontown, Ohio, Darryl and Lucinda Sivek, Steve (Jeanine) Sivek, Teri (Kevin) Angerhofer of Lakeland, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Clarence Simpson.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at St. Pat’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at St. Pat’s Catholic Church. Interment will be private. Memorials are preferred.
