The new coaching staff of the Raider boys’ swim and dive team put their athletes right to work on the first official day of practice Monday at the middle school pool.
From left are assistant coach Alyssa Nellis, head coach Anthony Schmidt and diving coach Marnie Blackman. Schmidt swam at Wayzata, Minn., High School from the seventh grade through senior year before becoming a school-record setter and three-time national qualifier at UW-La Crosse.
Nellis, a Green Bay Preble High School graduate, is a sophomore on the UW-River Falls swim team while Blackman began her diving career at Burnsville, Minn., High School and dove competitively for nine years.
The Raiders open the season Thursday, Dec. 8, at Eau Claire Memorial.
