Chiefs square off in Salvation Army red kettle challenge
The Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign officially began in Hudson last week and will continue Monday-Saturday until 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve. The annual “Hudson Chiefs’ Ring-Off” is set for this Friday, Dec. 2 from 3-7 p.m.

The annual “Hudson Chiefs’ Ring-Off” is set for this Friday, Dec. 2 from 3-7 p.m. The friendly competition to see who can raise the most has Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen at Family Fresh, EMS Chief Eric Christenson at Walmart, North Hudson Police Chief Mark Richert at County Market and Hudson Fire Department Chief Jim Frye at Papa Murphy’s.
More volunteers are needed to man the kettles at County Market, Family Fresh and Walmart from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays. Ringers will be at Papa Murphy’s from 4-7 p.m. Area churches and civic groups have scheduled volunteers on weekends as well as some shifts during the week.
