The Hudson girls’ varsity hockey team will be holding a fundraiser to battle breast cancer at its game on Thursday, Jan. 5, at Gornick Arena, 1820 Hanley Road, Hudson.
The game starts at 7 p.m. and will be played against the St. Croix Valley Fusion, a co-op team of girls from high schools including River Falls, Baldwin-Woodville, St. Croix Central, Boyceville and Spring Valley.
Fundraising events will be held throughout the evening, including chuck-a-puck, a 50/50 raffle and a free will offering. Other special events and activities will take place before and during the game.
The event is being organized by Raider senior hockey captain Alex Willi, who is working with the Hudson Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society to organize the evening. She and her varsity teammates are excited to host this event and help raise money to find a cure to keep them and other young women from potentially facing this type of cancer in the future.
There is a $5 admission charge collected by the high school. All other funds raised and collected during the evening will be donated to the Hudson Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society.
The Hudson girls’ hockey team invites the community to come and enjoy an evening of hockey as the Raiders and the Fusion renew their rivalry and help the girls raise funds to battle breast cancer.
