Edward Kelley, age 81, of Hudson, founder of Kelley Galleries, passed away peacefully on Jan. 8 following a battle with Alzheimer’s.

Edward Kelley, age 81, of Hudson, founder of Kelley Galleries, passed away peacefully on Jan. 8 following a battle with Alzheimer’s.

He was born on June 21, 1930, in St. Paul. He graduated from Mechanics Arts High School in 1948, after which he joined the U.S. Army where he served 3 years and was honorably discharged as sergeant, Headquarters Company, 47th Infantry Division in 1953. On May 22, 1954, he married his beloved wife, Patricia Ann Sisterman, and enjoyed 57 years of marriage. In 1985, Edward retired from the Burlington Northern Railroad after 37 years of employment. After retiring, he co-founded Kelley Galleries with his son, Don Kelley, in 1985. While working at the gallery, he found his love and passion for working with people.

Ed loved joining his children and grandchildren in his pool, yard work with his wife, living a healthy life, and most of all, his family. He touched the lives of many people in our community and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Edward is survived by his wife, Patricia Kelley; children, Tom Kelley, Rick Kelley, Don and Sue Kelley, Jean Kelley, Al and Barb (Kelley) McNamee, and Bob and Jen Kelley; siblings George Kelley and Bonnie Dupre; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Molly Kelley of St. Paul; siblings Bob Kelley, Lucille Conrad, and William Kelley.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1500 Vine St., Hudson. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. prior to the service at church. Burial with full military honors is at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
