Project: St. Croix County Health Center – Door Hardware/ Sprinkler Upgrades
Project Location: St. Croix County Health Center, 1445 N. 4th Street, New Richmond, WI 54017
Bid Opening: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 19, 2012
Bid Opening Location: St. Croix County Government Center, County Clerk’s Office, 1101 Carmichael Road, Hudson, WI 54016
Sealed bids for the project designated above will be received for and on behalf of St. Croix County, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, at the location listed above, on or before the above mentioned time and date, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Work on this project will be split into two packages – package one generally consists of the replacement of stairwell doors and hardware and associated electrical, chapel door and hardware and addition of two egress gates; package two generally consists of the addition of sprinklers to elevator shafts and equipment rooms and the addition of sprinklers to two storage rooms.
A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held at 10:00am on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the project location – meet at the St. Croix County Health Center Loading Dock.
Bids shall be on the forms provided for that purpose and according to the Bidding Documents prepared by Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. dated January 6, 2012.
The Bidding Documents may be seen at the issuing office of Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. located at 156 High Street, Suite 300, New Richmond, Wisconsin, 715-861-4870.

Paper copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from Docunet Corp. located at 2435 Xenium Lane North, Plymouth, MN 55441 (763-475-9600) for a fee of $50.
Each bid shall be accompanied by the Bidder’s Bond or Certified Check in the amount equal to at least 5 percent of the amount of the total bid, which shall be forfeited to the Owner in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a Contract. The successful Bidder will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds of 100 percent of bid amount.
Bids shall be directed to the County Clerk, securely sealed and endorsed upon the outside wrapper, “BID FOR HEALTH CENTER – DOOR HARDWARE/SPRINKLER UPGRADE.”
The Owner reserves the right to retain the deposits of the three (3) lowest bidders for a period not to exceed 60 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date and time set for the opening of bids.
Low bidder will be required to submit “Contractor’s Qualification Statement.” Bidders must have at least 4 years of experience and must have done 4 jobs of similar size and type, as well as the foreman overseeing the work.
This Work shall be subject to minimum wages and labor standards in accordance with the State of Wisconsin.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
