Meet the coach this Saturday
The Diamond Backers will host a Meet the Coach Meat Raffle to introduce new high school softball coach Jim Revoir and his staff and raise funds to help with travel, field improvements and gear for the Raider softball team this Saturday, Jan. 21 beginning at 2 p.m., at the Village Inn of North Hudson. The public is invited to come out and meet Revoir, his staff and players and help support Hudson softball.
Basketball fundraiser held Jan. 24
Hudson High School Backcourt Club will host an all-you-can-eat pasta/pizza buffet at the Willow River Inn in Burkhardt on Tuesday, Jan. 24 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $9 each and are available at the door. There will also be a chance to bid on many silent auction items during the event. All proceeds support Hudson High boys and girls basketball programs. Free throw championship held Feb. 4
Knights of Columbus St. Croix Council 1762 will sponsor the 2012 local level free throw championship to be held Saturday, Feb. 4, at the St. Patrick School gymnasium, 403 St. Croix St. Doors to the gym will be open at 8:30 a.m. with the competition to begin at 9 a.m. All girls and boys ages 10-14 are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. Age is determined as of Jan. 1, 2012. All contestants will be recognized for their participation. Winners may advance to district competition, to be held in mid- to late-February. All applications must be signed by the contestant and a parent or guardian verifying the age of the contestant. Entry forms will be provided the day of the competition or you may pick up an entry form at the front desk at St. Patrick School. For more information, call Denny Darnold at (715) 386-5591.
