Women’s club introduces 95th anniversary cookbook
The Hudson Women's Club has issued a 95th anniversary edition cookbook which will be on sale at Associated Banks, Et Cetera, Lavender Thymes, The Phipps Center for Arts, County Market, Hudson Hospital, and Keller Williams Integrity Realty.
In December 1915 a small group of enterprising women met in the basement of the public library for the purpose of establishing a women's club in the city of Hudson. The first regular meeting was held in January of 1916. At that time objectives included charity work among needy families, knitting for soldiers, adopting a war orphan and aiding in war bond drives.
In 2012 the mission of the Hudson Women's Club is to increase learning through club programs and activities, and to volunteer and raise funds in support of education, health, the arts, historic preservation, and those in need.
To mark this important occasion the club has issued a 95th anniversary edition cookbook which will be on sale at Associated Banks, Et Cetera, Lavender Thymes, The Phipps Center for Arts, County Market, Hudson Hospital, and Keller Williams Integrity Realty.
The cost of the book is $15 and all proceeds will go to support the mission. Recipes include many longtime family favorites from women's club members. The cookbook also includes several vintage photos of Hudson throughout the years courtesy of the Hudson Star-Observer and the St. Croix Historical Society.
