District to talk about dog track referendum

Three information sessions about the St. Croix Meadows dog track referendum have been scheduled by the Hudson School District.

The Hudson School District has scheduled three information presentations about the April 3 referendum on the purchase of the former St. Croix Meadows dog track.

Sessions are set for Feb. 27 at the North Hudson Village Hall, on March 8 at Willow River Elementary School in Lee Auditorium, and on March 27 at River Crest Elementary School. All the sessions begin at 7 p.m.

Information tables will also be set up during parent/teacher conferences at district schools on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 4-8 p.m.

The presentations will be made by Superintendent Mary Bowen-Eggebraaten and at least one member of the Board of Education. Information will include student enrollment data, current and projected learning and space needs at the secondary level and how the dog track is the first step in meeting those needs. They will also discuss what steps will follow the referendum. Community members will be able to ask questions at each session.

For more information go online at www.hudson.k12.wi.us or call the superintendent’s office at (715)377-3702.
