The Raider boys’ basketball team dropped a pair of games last week, 57-38, at Big Rivers Conference leader Rice Lake Friday and 45-37 at home to North St. Paul Saturday.
The Raiders, now 6-4 in BRC play, 11-8 overall, will wrap up the regular season with home games this Thursday, Feb. 16, against Eau Claire North and Saturday, Feb. 18, against Stillwater before going on the road to face Chippewa Falls next Friday, Feb. 24. WIAA regional play is set to begin Tuesday, Feb. 28.
Last Friday the Raiders and Warriors were tied, 13-13, at the end of one before Rice Lake opened up a 24-19 halftime lead. The Warriors outscored the Raiders 15-8 in the third quarter on their way to improving to 10-0 in the BRC, 19-1 overall.
Kellen Pearson and Alex Herink scored 12 points each in the loss while Ethan Stanchik finished with five. Stef Smith contributed four points and Jordan Delao had three while Max Hawksford finished with two.
Saturday against North St. Paul, the Polars led by one, 10-9, at the end of one and gradually pulled away to leave town with a 45-37 victory.
Pearson led all scorers with 14 points wahile Herink added 13. Stanchik finished with five and Smith scored three while Hawksford had two.
