Letter: Critical of Gov. Walker

Dear Editor

Have you heard the latest? Last spring, the Walker administration outsourced Wisconsin’s redistricting plan—required after every census to make sure we maintain the constitutionally required “one citizen, one vote” principle—to a Madison law firm, Michael Best & Friedrich. They asked each Republican legislator to sign a letter pledging to hold the redistricting plan secret.

Sheila Harsdorf signed this abomidable letter on April 6, Dean Knudson on April 13.  As far as I can tell, they’ve kept their pledge; neither one has spoken publicly about the details of redistricting.

This isn’t just standard backroom politics. These letters demonstrate that Harsdorf and Knudson place the interests of their Republican leaders ahead of the interests of their constituents. Sheila and Dean, we elected you; you are responsible to us, not Walker and his cronies.
