Two jewelry-making classes, Journal Necklaces and Pop Bottle Bracelets, will be offered by Debra Dresler of Stroke of Art in March at The Phipps Center for the Arts.

Journal Necklaces, for ages 18 and older, will be held on Saturday, March 3, from 1 to 5 p.m. In this class, participants will make a keepsake necklace from copper and brass. This mini-journal necklace contains six different pages, including some made of plaster. No jewelry experience is necessary. The instructor will supply all tools and materials. Participants will use metal stamping, riveting, patina, cold connection techniques, and chain to make their own jewelry masterpiece. The class fee is $45.

Pop Bottle Bracelets, for teens and adults, will be held on Saturday, March 31, from noon to 2 p.m. Participants will learn to make a recycled bracelet from a bottle cap. No special skills are needed. The instructor will bring the tools, and she will guide students step-by-step through easy assembly techniques to bring home a finished piece of their own jewelry. Participants should bring a favorite bottle cap if they wish, and any special charms, beads, or trinkets they would like to attach to their bracelet. The class fee is $23.
