Hartzell to play soccer at Lafayette College
Hudson senior Shannon Hartzell has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer at NCAA Division I Lafayette College in Easton, Penn. Hartzell committed to the Leopards on National Signing Day, Feb. 1.
Hudson senior Shannon Hartzell has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer at NCAA Division I Lafayette College in Easton, Penn. Hartzell committed to the Leopards on National Signing Day, Feb. 1.
Hartzell is Lafayette head coach Mick Statham’s first-ever Wisconsin recruit to the eastern Pennsylvania school, which is located about 75 miles west of New York City.
Hartzell played on the Minnesota State ODP team from 2009-2011 and served as co-captain and leading scorer on St. Croix Arsenal in 2010-2011. She helped her squad to a Minnesota State runner-up finish in 2010 and an Orange Classic International Showcase Championship in 2011.
Hartzell earned varsity letters in track from 2009-2011, as well as earning all-conference status. She is also lettering in ice hockey as a senior.
In the classroom, Hartzell is a member of the National Honor Society, a four-time Academic All-Conference selection and a National Merit Scholar finalist. She is the daughter of Andrew and Karen Hartzell of Hudson.
