The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office recognized members of the agency and community during an awards ceremony held at the Government Center last week.

The top photo is a group shot of those recognized at the night’s festivities. Included are, front from left, Bruce Opseth, Gregory Schuneman (Citizen Commendation), Sgt. In the bottom photo, Bruce Opseth was photographed with those he credited with saving his life. On July 24, 2011, Opseth collapsed and went into full cardiac arrest. Citizen Gregory Schuneman had begun CPR by the time Deputy Nick Krueger and Sgt. James Sander arrived on scene. The three men continued administering CPR and defibrillator shocks until Lakeview EMS arrived and took over medical care. At the ceremony were, from left, Lakeview EMS Paramedics Jason Richter and Brian Galowitz, Lakeview EMS Director Jon Muller, Gregory Schuneman, Annette Opseth, Bruce Opseth, Blake Opseth, Sgt.
