A Woodville man made an initial appearance in St. Croix County District Court Monday on felony sex assault and misdemeanor prostitution and bail jumping charges.

Terance Jonathan Frederick, 52, was ordered to post a $10,000 signature bond. A preliminary hearing was set March 7 before Judge Edward F. Vlack.

The criminal complaint alleged on Feb. 25 Frederick attempted to rape a woman who was performing a massage on him at his town of Eau Galle residence.

Frederick had ordered an out-call body massage from the woman through an on-line ad at “backpage.com”. The woman arrived about 3 p.m. and Frederick went to an ATM machine to get about $140 to pay for the service.

The complaint said both persons were naked during the session. Frederick allegedly requested a sexual favor from the woman then got on top of her and attempted to engage in sex without consent.

According to the complaint, the woman said Frederick was intoxicated during the incident and she struggled free and left the house carrying most of her clothing and wearing very little. She contacted her boyfriend who drove her to the session and was nearby and he got in touch with the sheriff.

Frederick told deputies he paid $140 for a massage with a “happy ending” but the “happy ending” would allegedly cost him a total $300. He didn’t have the money and said he was a victim of extortion. He denied getting on top of her.

Frederick has an OWI-fourth and operating with prohibited alcohol concentration (PAC), fourth offense, case pending in court and is scheduled for a March 7 hearing. There is an absolute sobriety condition in the bail/bond in that case.
