Hudson’s girls’ basketball team dropped a 41-25 decision to Chippewa Falls last Friday night as the fourth-ranked Cardinals clinched the Big Rivers Conference championship while improving to 20-1 overall, 10-1 in BRC play.
Hudson dropped to 4-15 overall, 1-10 in the BRC, and will wrap up the regular season this Thursday night, March 1, at home against River Falls (11-10, 4-7). Tip-off is 7:30 p.m.
The Raiders, the No. 10 seed in the WIAA Regional bracket, will open postseason play at No. 7 Eau Claire Memorial (12-9, 6-5) Tuesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. The winner advances to a regional semifinal game at No. 2 seed Marshfield Friday, March 9.
Last Friday in Hudson, the Cardinals held the Raiders to single-digit scoring in all four quarters on their way to clinching the BRC title.
Kindra Witthus accounted for over half of Hudson’s scoring, finishing with 13 points, while Jessie Kirkwood and Sarah Krier scored four points each in the loss.
