Hudson High School graduate Nathan Roeder set a North Central University single-game scoring record with 44 points to lead the Rams to an 85-77 victory over Crown College Jan. 17.
Roeder, a junior at NCU, nearly repeated the feat this past Saturday, pouring in 43 points in the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II North Central Region Championship game, but the Rams saw their four-year streak of NCCAA regional titles snapped in an 83-78 loss to Trinity Bible College.
Roeder, a NCCAA first-team All-American a year ago, led the Rams in scoring this season with an average of over 21 points per game. He was named an Association of NCAA Division III Independents National Player of the Week earlier this season and is the 21st player in NCU history to score over 1,000 points in his career.
Roeder was a two-time All-Big Rivers Conference selection at Hudson High School, earning All-BRC Honorable Mention as a junior in 2008 before being named to the All-BRC First Team in 2009. He finished second in the conference in scoring as a senior with an average of 18.2 points per game to help the Raiders to a BRC championship.
