Knutson honored by WIAC

MENOMONIE — Hudson High School graduate Megan Knutson, who runs track for UW-La Crosse, was selected for the WIAC All-Conference Sportsmanship Team during the conference indoor championship meet held at the Johnson Field House on the campus of UW-Stout last weekend.

MENOMONIE — Hudson High School graduate Megan Knutson, who runs track for UW-La Crosse, was selected for the WIAC All-Conference Sportsmanship Team during the conference indoor championship meet held at the Johnson Field House on the campus of UW-Stout last weekend.

The UW-La Crosse women’s track and field team finished in third place at the WIAC Indoor Championships Saturday night. The Eagles totaled 108.0 team points while UW-Oshkosh captured the league title for the second year in a row with 152.0. UW-Eau Claire was second with 121.0.

In addition to being selected to the 2012 All-WIAC Sportsmanship Team, Knutson also helped the Eagles by competing in several events throughout the indoor season and making it to the conference finals on Saturday in the 800-meter run, where she finished ninth with a time of 2 minutes, 20.65 seconds.

Knutson, who is in graduate school for Cardiac Rehabilitation at UW-La Crosse, is a captain for the lady Eagle’s track and field team. She was also a senior captain of the UW-L women’s soccer team during her undergraduate term as a senior.

Knutson will graduate in May with her Master’s in cardiac rehabilitation and do an internship at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. Her parents are John and Rose Knutson of Hudson.
