Letter: Voting fraud in Wisconsin

Dear Editor,

On Feb. 21, a video was shot and published by a citizen journalist from a permissible location outside of the Wisconsin Assembly Chambers. This video, available on YouTube at the time this letter was submitted, (http://youtu.be/xDiQgcVUZ3Q ) clearly shows three Republican representatives, Joel Kleefisch (R-Oconomowoc), Chad Weininger (R-Green Bay) and Scott Krug (R-Wisconsin Rapids) voting for four absent representatives; Paul Farrow, Dean Knudson, Ed Brooks and Jeff Stone.

The location of the seating is provided by the Assembly Chamber Seating Chart which was available online when this video was produced. Yes, a fraudulent vote was cast for District 30 Representative Dean Knudson (R-Hudson). This is the same Dean Knudson who justified his support for the Voter ID Law by referring to “alleged” busloads of voters casting improper ballots. This video, which has been shown on at least one national news show and by JS Online, clearly shows the votes being cast for representatives who are not present in the Assembly Chamber. Even if this is a “common practice” and is done by members of both parties it is clearly “wrong”. If each voter must have a “proper State-approved ID” in order to vote is it asking too much of our elected officials to have a “proper” encoded ID card to activate the electronic voting systems in the Assembly and the Senate?
