Letter: Appreciates support

Dear Editor,

I am deeply grateful to everyone who supported my candidacy in the school board primary and for your loyalty and for caring as much as I do about Hudson Schools and our students. I believe all can benefit from new ideas and different approaches to challenges, and that is what I hope to bring to the school board.

I am asking you to stay diligent and stay with me through the general election on April 3. I will need all of you. There will be six candidates on the ballot. The three who get the most votes will be placed on the school board. The voter turnout will be very heavy due to two referendum questions that will appear on the ballot. One is whether or not to purchase the dog track and the second question is to approve funding for the purchase. It’s guaranteed that these two issues will elicit heavy voter participation. People are involved and engaged and want their voice heard.

There are some people who would prefer that I not be seated on the school board. Between now and the April election I suspect there will be additional attempts to disparage me and convince you that I am not suited for the position. I am asking you to ignore all of it and stay focused on the goal.

I look forward to being involved in resolving the very important issues Hudson schools deal with, and I ask for your support as we move forward. It is my goal that my presence on the board will provide a venue for the public to have their views heard.

Editor’s note: The writer is a candidate for the Hudson School Board.
