The staff at Hudson Hospital’s Birth Center was busier than usual last week when five babies were born within a 24-hour period. What makes this event even more special is that all five were born on Leap Day, Feb. 29. The five births on one day tied a record for the hospital where an average of two births occur a day. Nurse manager of the center Joanne Donhowe said that there had been no births the previous 48 hours. “Our nurses were running all day just to keep up. We’ve rarely seen it like this.”

The new arrivals and their proud parents are:

--McKenzi, daughter of Stacy and Josh Williams of Hudson.

--Elijah, son of Stacy and Jonathan Anderstrom of Hudson.

--Lyle, son of Heidi and Casey Wagner of Glenwood City.

-Greysen, son of Laura and Ben Nadeau of Hudson.

--Chiashi, daughter of Pang and Lee Yang of Roberts.
