American Red Cross Babysitter's Training Course next class sessions are March 22 and 23 from 8:45 a.m. – noon; and April 6 and 7, from 8:45 a.m. - noon. Youth ages 11 to 15 learn child care, first aid, leadership and communication skills. Class size is limited (must attend both days). Registration is $75, and includes materials. Baby Sign Language class is scheduled on March 26, from 6:30-8 p.m. Join instructor Jenny Lief, MA, CCC, Speech Language Pathologist to learn the benefits and joys of using sign language with preverbal hearing babies. Babies can control their arms and hands before they develop the oral motor skills necessary for speech, so signing allows babies and toddlers to express their thoughts before they can speak. Baby Building Nutrition Course is offered on April 3, 6-7 p.m. Are you pregnant or thinking about starting a family? A positive pregnancy test can make you suddenly realize everything you eat, drink and do with your body can greatly affect the new life you are carrying. Attend this one hour seminar to learn about nutrition in preparation for conception, healthy nutrition during pregnancy and healthy nutrition for breastfeeding. Handouts and recipes will be provided. Class is led by a licensed and registered dietitian. Class fee is $25 includes boxed dinner, additional $10 if partner attends. To register, call Paige Lewis at (715) 531-6029.

Infant Massage Class scheduled on April 10, 6:30-8:30 p.m. presented by Tracy Johnson, Certified in infant and adult massage. Whether your baby is newborn or toddler, massage can bring immediate and lasting benefit such as improved sensory awareness, improved digestion and reduced stress caused by gas, teething or colic, as well as a special time for bonding through comforting touch. Healthy Lifestyle, Healthy Life free health seminar is offered on Monday, April 16, 6:30-9 p.m. Presented by Rynn Burke, M.D., Internal Medicine, Hudson Hospital & Clinics. Learn about a variety of ways you can stay healthy this spring. We’ve all heard -- exercise is medicine -- and it’s true. Dr. Burke will present how exercise can be beneficial to your overall health. Healthy lifestyle breakout sessions are also available: nutrition care, community gardening, YMCA diabetes prevention program, rehabilitation ergonomics and core strength and Tai Chi demos. Embrace the season with a new attitude and these healthy lifestyle tips.

CPR training

Heartsaver CPR and AED Classes (for certification) – Thursday, March 15, 6-10 p.m.; Saturday, March 31, 8 a.m.-noon. $35/person. Learn the basic techniques of adult, child, and infant CPR; first aid for choking; and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Pre-registration is required.
