CITY OF HUDSON: Ordinance 4-12 (Boat trailer parking)
(Pub. March 22, 2012)
(Pub. March 22, 2012)
CITY OF HUDSON
ORDINANCE NO. 4-12
Whereas, the Common Council finds that the parking of empty trailers for boats, jet-skis, kayaks, and other types of recreational water equipment/vehicles, on city streets and in city-owned parking lots creates parking problems in commercial areas in the City by monopolizing parking spaces for long periods of time, and making it difficult for customers of businesses in those areas to access the businesses;
Whereas, the Common Council also finds that parking of the above described empty trailers on residential streets in the City of Hudson creates problems in residential areas, making it difficult for the residents and their visitors to find parking near their residences;
NOW THEREFORE, the Common Council of the City of Hudson hereby ordains that Hudson City Code Chapter 235 - 3 G shall be amended to add Section 235-3 G (5), and to provide a penalty for as follows:
Section I. Amendment of 235-3G to add:
(5) (a) No person shall park any empty trailer for boats, jet-skis, kayaks, canoes, or other types of recreational water equipment/vehicles on any street or in any city-owned parking lot within the city limits of the City of Hudson, excepting the First Street and Lake Mallalieu boat launch parking lots.
(b) Any person who shall violate Section 235-3 G (5) shall be subject to a fine of $50.00, plus towing fee, if any, plus any applicable court costs.
Section II. Severability.
Each section, sentence, provision, of this ordinance, or portion thereof is an independent section, and the holding of any section or part thereof to be unconstitutional, void or ineffective for any reasons, shall not be deemed to affect the validity or constitutionality of any other sections or parts thereof.
Section III. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall become effective upon adoption by the Council and publication as provided by law.
Dated this 12th day of March 2012.
