A Somerset man pleaded innocent to felony charges Thursday, March 15, in connection with a stabbing incident earlier in the month.
George Willie Elmore, 51, also pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of possession of THC and drug paraphernalia. Judge Scott R. Needham set a motion hearing for May 2.
Elmore was charged with attempted homicide, aggravated battery and reckless injury following an incident March 4 in the town of Somerset.
The criminal complaint alleged Timothy Burdick, 41, was stabbed by Elmore during a scuffle at Burdick’s residence at 1952 County I.
A female companion of Burdick’s told sheriff’s deputies Elmore confronted Burdick in the driveway and started a fight.
During the altercation, Burdick said he had been stabbed and told the woman to call for help. He suffered stomach wounds and was taken to Regions hospital in St. Paul, the sheriff’s report said.
