Gov. Scott Walker recently signed a $24,762,161.36 contract to improve the Hwy. 65 interchange of I-94 near Roberts in St. Croix County. Construction is scheduled to begin this month.

Chippewa Concrete Services Inc. of Chippewa Falls is the prime contractor of the project. The company will reconstruct the interchange as part of the state’s highway rehabilitation program.

Construction is scheduled for completion by November 2013, according to Dave Solberg, project manager for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

The governor also signed a $7,269,018.09 contract to improve four intersections and resurface a portion of Hwy. 65 in St. Croix County. Construction is scheduled to begin in May.

Four roundabouts will be constructed at the intersections of Hwy. 65 and County G, County TT, 120th Street, and 130th Street. Resurfacing will occur on Hwy. 65 and Hwy. 12, from 70th Street to the Hwy. 12 East/Hwy. 65 intersection, between River Falls and Roberts.

Construction is scheduled for completion by October 2012.

During the roundabout construction, local detours will allow access to Hwy. 65 and Hwy. 12. Resurfacing will have minimal traffic impact.
