Raider boys, girls third at All-American Invite

Junior Ryan Kromer set a new meet record in the boys’ 1600 meter run and senior Katie Wetzstein won the girls’ 1600 meter run as both the Raider boys’ and girls' track and field teams finished third at the All-American Invitational Saturday at UW-River Falls’ Knowles Center.
Kromer won his race with a time of 4 minutes, 24.97 seconds, breaking the old meet record of 4:25.72 set by Michael Christianson of La Crosse Aquinas in 2011.
Wetzstein took first in the girls’ 1600 with a time of 5:08.1, over eight seconds faster than second place Paige Skorseth of River Falls.
Hudson also picked up first place efforts from junior Taylor Steffen in the girls’ shot put with a throw of 39-feet, 1.5-inches and the boys’ 4 x 200 meter relay team with a time of 1:35.2.
La Crosse Central won the boys’ team title while Rochester (Minn.) Century won the girls’ title. Sixteen teams competed in the meet.
