A Fond du Lac man has been convicted in a robbery at a Hudson residence last November.

Michael Wayne Schwartzkopf Jr., 26, Fond du Lac, pleaded guilty to one felony count of armed burglary Monday, April 9, in a plea agreement in St. Croix County Circuit Court. Charges of armed robbery, false imprisonment and theft were dismissed.

Judge Scott R. Needham ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set a sentencing hearing for Aug. 8 at 3:30 p.m.

Schwartzkopf was arrested early Nov. 21 after he kicked in a door at 1820 Stone Creek St. and held a gun on the homeowner Steve Clinton Iverson. Schwartzkopf was apprehended at a nearby Kwik Trip with some $35,000 in cash and a handgun in his possession. He told investigators he did the robbery to pay off a drug debt, the criminal complaint said.

Iverson was later charged with felony possession of THC with intent to deliver.

In a related incident, Jared Shane Carr, 26, West Bend, who allegedly drove the car that delivered Schwartzkopf to the residence then left him, was arrested later and charged with felony armed robbery.

Iverson was scheduled for a status conference in his case April 16.

Carr was set for an arraignment hearing May 21.
