Youth's first turkey hunt a success

Ten-year-old Samuel Nelson, left, harvested this tom on opening morning of the 2012 youth turkey hunt.
It was his first hunt, participating as part of the Wisconsin DNR mentorship program with his Father, Derek, right.
The bird weighed 18 pounds and sported a 7-inch beard along with 1-inch spurs. The bird was harvested on their property in the town of Hudson.
