Valley Pools and Spas has a new location in the town of Hudson. The long standing Hudson business has moved to 593 Schommer Drive. Everything has expanded including the showroom, retail area and parts area which went from 3,300 square feet to 15,000 square feet.
“What you see here we had at our other location,” said Gayle Schneider, owner. “It was not only in the store but outside in two large storage containers and an exterior building. It is amazing to have everything under one roof.”
Schneider and her husband Peter purchased the Hudson location of Valley Pools and Spas in 2006. Both Schneider and her daughter Anne Zezza had worked for the company prior to that: Schneider for nine years and Zezza who has been in the pool business for a total of 12 years.
In the six years since Schneider took over, the company has continued to grow, offering design, sale and installation of in-ground, above ground pools and spas. Zezza continues as the location’s manager. A big component of their business is servicing all types of pools and nearly every model of spa.
“Every year the spa models change,” said Schneider. “For one they now have extremely energy efficient pumps.” Valley Pools and Spa also offers salt water systems for pools. According to Schneider, they can make it easier to maintain the water chemistry.
A line of purses, sandals, jewelry and birdhouses add a little glitz to the retail area, along with a wide assortment of pool accessories, from games to floating chairs. They also have everything a pool owner needs to keep his investment sound including chemicals.
Along with the pool and spa business, the Schneiders became a U-Haul rental outlet last fall. Trucks and trailers are available. Trucks are available in 10 to 26 feet lengths and trailers six to 12 feet. Trailers maybe closed, open or designed for auto transport. Customers may also rent tow bars. One cargo van stays in Hudson at all times for just local rentals. The others can be rented here and dropped at another U-Haul location, nationwide.
“The U-Haul rental outlet is really more of a service we offer the community,” said Schneider. The rental outlet maintains the same hours as Valley Pools and Spas.
Store hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, call (715) 381-0111 or go to www.hudsonvalleypools.com.
