The Hudson Boosters will be starting a third- and fourth-grade tackle football program in the fall. A group coaching program will be used to create an atmosphere where every player has equal opportunities to learn proper techniques and become a good, safe football player. The club strives to provide the best experience for all players, coaches, and parents.
Players will be coached in a group manner for the first half of the season, rotating to different stations in small groups where they will participate in various drills. This best leverages the expertise and experience of all available coaches to expose each player to the most well rounded coaching possible. In addition to stations, players will be divided up into teams and taught player positions and plays in a scrimmage type atmosphere.
The cost of the program is $95 and all equipment will be provided by the Hudson Boosters with the exception of cleats, which are not mandatory for play but are recommended.
All practices are Tuesdays and Thursday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. starting at the end of August.
A parent information meeting will be scheduled for the middle of May. Check the Booster website for time and place: www.hudsonboosters.org.
Program registration and equipment measurement are Wednesday, May 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Hudson Booster equipment shed located at the corner of First and St. Croix streets. If anyone misses the registration night, filled out forms can be mailed to the Hudson Boosters, PO Box 354, Attn: Football, Hudson, WI 54016.
