Registration for the Hudson School District’s American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program, training is this Saturday, April 21, from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Hudson Middle School gym. The middle school will not be opened until 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
Fees are $20 per student per two-week session for levels 1-6. The Waders 1, 2, and 3 levels are $30 per session. The Waders 3 class is for children ages 4-5 years old that have not completed kindergarten yet, but are ready to work on Level 1 skills. All classes are registered on a first-come, first serve basis and after a class is filled, it will be closed.
Again this year for Level VI is scuba and snorkeling. This class is an Introduction to the Underwater World and will be offered in Session C from 11-noon for $40 per session. In the swimming pool students will develop their snorkeling skills and experience breathing underwater with scuba gear. This shallow water scuba experience is an easy introduction to what it takes to explore the vast underwater world. While this is not an actual certification program, the aquatic skills each student learns will enhance their basic knowledge and respect of water. All gear for this class will be provided.
Registration on Saturday, April 21, is open only to Hudson School District residents.
A Hudson School District student school report card or a picture ID for proof of residency must be provided. A second registration date is scheduled for Wednesday, May 9, from 4:30-6:30 pm. This second registration date is open to Hudson and non-Hudson residents – note there are different fees for each.
Registrations or make schedule changes cannot be made over the phone. For more information, call Anita or Bev at (715) 377-3705, ext 8028.
