Woman found dead in Somerset field
The death of a Somerset-area woman Monday, apparently from a gunshot wound, is being investigated by the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department.
The death of a Somerset-area woman Monday, apparently from a gunshot wound, is being investigated by the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department.
At about 4:45 p.m. Monday, the St. Croix County Communications Center received a call from a man, who said he had found his wife dead in a field near the intersection of County Road VV and 50th Street in the town of Somerset.
Deputies responded and found the body of a 53-year-old woman. The names of all parties are being withheld pending the positive identification of the deceased.
No further details are being released at this time.
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Somerset Fire and Rescue Department and the St. Croix medical examiner.
