Letter-Finds humor in letter

Dear Editor,

When I get my copy of the Star-Observer from the mailbox on Thursday, I always read the Editorial pages completely. I read the weekly “Our View,” I read the opinion columns on the right-hand page, and I also enjoy “Pictures from the Past” that are printed each week. I especially enjoy the “Letters to the Editor.”

Reading these items helps me to be informed about the city in which I reside and the area around it. I have had letters published on these pages and have been informed and ticked-off by letters written by others. I do not read these pages to get a daily dose of humor as Jon Stewart and “Comedy Central” take care of that.

However, I nearly fell off of the couch when I started laughing at the comment made by Mr. Ken Palmersheim, where he wrote, “The Hudson Star-Observer exemplifies the double standard practiced by most liberal media these days”.

To suggest that the Hudson Star-Observer or any publication of Forum Communications (the parent company of the HSO) is “liberal” is downright knee-slapping hilarious. Surely Mr. Palmersheim was joshing. That comment was even more hilarious then when Margaret Ontl wrote about having a plain brown wrapper for her Ann Coulter book when she was doing her “research.” Apparently I have discovered a new source of topical humor, so from now on I shall be awaiting the HSO’s Editorial pages with renewed anticipation as I look for the “laugher of the week.”
