Hudson High School Career Day focuses on the future

More than 600 students attended the seventh annual Career Day at Hudson High School.

More than 600 students attended the seventh annual Career Day at Hudson High School.

There to talk about their futures were representatives from 25 programs at the area’s technical colleges, Chippewa Valley Technical College and WITC. In addition owners and employees from more than a dozen local businesses also participated.

Melisa Hansen, the district’s School to Career coordinator, said the objectives of the event are to provide opportunities where students could learn about the options offered through technical colleges and to build awareness of the careers degrees from these schools can lead to.

“It also provides an opportunity for students to connect with local business people and plant the seeds for further inquiry. Some businesses present even had opportunities for students to apply for available jobs,” said Hansen.
