The 62nd annual Rod, Gun & Archery Club Youth Day attracted a large group of youths despite the rainy and cool weather Saturday, April 28.

Participants received instructions in supervised groups and competed with others in three age groups (9-10, 11-12 and 13-14) in archery, .22 rifle and shotgun events. Safety protection, guns, shells, bows and arrows were provided by the club. Trophies were awarded to the top three in each age group.

Participants were also treated to refreshments, lunch and prizes for all. Informational talks were provided by the Wisconsin DNR, law enforcement officers and hunter safety instructors. The day began with a flag-raising by Boy Scout Troop 168 and ended with a trick shooting exhibition by the Gould Brothers, based out of Alexandria, Minn.
