Letter: Walker is best choice

Dear Editor,
I support Walker and will vote for him because of who he is now. I see no need to go back to his Boy Scout days to analyze all the good and bad decisions he has made throughout his life.
Right now, he is a competent leader, knows what is best for Wisconsin and knows how to work for the best. I like especially his Act 10 legislation. It has brought functionality and financial benefits to municipalities and school districts across the entire state.
Over a billion dollars has been saved by this program. Where Act 10 has been put into policy, fewer teachers have been laid off, fewer classroom sizes have been reduced, and fewer extracurricular activities have been cut or cancelled than in any year of the previous decade.
School districts have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars by being able to bid out their health insurance coverage. The union bosses have found out that their control is limited to their own members; the rest of us do not have to go along. I feel we should focus on the education of our children not union politics.
To quote Walker, “What we did is fundamentally pro-education; it’s about the kids, not the bureaucracy.”
