Volunteers needed

--Community Thread’s fourth annual Spring Into Service event, Saturday, May 5, 9 a.m.-noon, at several locations. Participants can request a site or the organization will assign volunteers. A free lunch follows. Register at elena@communitythreadmn.org or (651) 439-7434.

--St. Croix Valley Restorative Justice Program volunteer inservice, 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at the center in River Falls. Topic is “Brain-based Change: How & Why it Works.” Cost is free to SCVRJP volunteers, $25 for others, and includes supper, handouts and more. More information is available at http://www.scvrjp.org.

--The community garden at Hudson Hospital needs volunteers to pull weeds before May 17 in garden plots designated for the food shelf and senior center and for the gathering place to prepare these areas for planting. Shifts are half hour to a few hours.

Also needed is a volunteer coordinator for five-10 hours per week to coordinate garden volunteers and help with special garden events.
