Hudson High School tech ed classes are participating in Cedar Lake bus races this Saturday.

The bus was donated by Cedar Lake Speedway. The autos and welding students were involved in getting the bus race ready by removing the seats, floor and windows, painting the exterior, designing and building a role cage and making engine improvements.

Tom Klatt, HHS welding instructor, will be driving the bus in the race and said, “The students working on the bus have been very excited about the project. The hardest part is telling them they can’t do something, such as certain modifications to the engine.”

HHS autos instructor Bob Branson thought it was a great learning experience for his students.

The races start at 6 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5 for students and $12 for adults.
