Elan’s Spring Fashion Fusion style show raised $1,000 for The Phipps Center for the Arts. Over 100 people attended the April 24 show, featuring the store’s newest spring apparel. The event was held at The Phipps Center.
“All the funds raised will go to support programs at The Phipps to benefit the community,” said Phipps’ Visual Arts Director Anastasia Shartin.
“It was a beautiful spring evening, full of excitement and energy,” said Elan owner Sandee Madigan. “Our models, who represent a range of ages and body types, are friends and customers of Elan. People really enjoy seeing clothes modeled by our fabulous local women. It makes it more personal.”
Shartin said she appreciated the “great community participation of the different businesses working together. It was well organized.” The Nova Wine Bar provided refreshments; Marnie Marie Photography did the photographs; Diane Olivieri, personal trainer at Riverfront Athletic Club, greeted guests; and Elan staff members worked behind the scenes to coordinate the models and clothes. Dilly-Dally in the Alley was also a sponsor.
“The overall idea that Sandee has set up in having a fashion show with the proceeds benefiting a non-profit organization is beautiful,” Shartin says. “We’re glad The Phipps can be a part of it.”
Elan clothing boutique, 218 Locust St., carries a variety of fashions and brands in women’s clothing and accessories.
